Savioke is a robotics company and we're building autonomous robot helpers for the services industry. I went to Cornell for my undergrad. I got a bachelor's in applied physics and computer science. I really liked physics because it was abouthands on doing experiments and building things and making stuff real. Computer science was also really interesting because you can create stuff a lot faster on a computer. And so, I went into computer science for my graduate studies. I went to University of Washington where I studied artificial intelligence and human computer interaction. I don't think of myself as a roboticist even thought that's what I do. Robot whispering for me is aboutmaking it so that the robots behave well in human environments and it's not just about programming or engineering it's about looking at those robots in context. Musical Fire Table!

Standing waves of fire! Check out Audible: Fysikshow: – I’m hosting Michio Kaku in Melbourne ONLY: Rubens’ Tube is an awesome demo and here we take it to the next level with a two-dimensional ‘Pyro Board’. This shows unique standing wave patters of sound in the box. The pressure variations due to the sound waves affect the flow rate of flammable gas from the holes in the Pyro Board and therefore affect the height and colour of flames. This is interesting for visualizing standing wave patterns and simply awesome to watch when put to music. Thank you to Sune Nielsen and everyone at Aarhus for sharing this demonstration with me! And thanks for having me at your conference. This video compiles the main impressions of the teams on this exciting ERL tournament. Official Barcelona Local Tournament webpage: PAL Robotics Blog post: the space here is amazing the house is amazing I think it's doing very very well we've been participating in ARL since the beginning so I think we're a bit more experienced and we are happy with our performance it's how we expected it to be in the lab where we're on base which is the personal robotics lab in the UK it's quite a what we call a sterile environment so you know quite clinical things are organized there's not a lot of clutter but when you come to an environment like this where it's more representative of a real home there's quite a lot to learn about uncertainty things not being quite where you expect them to be things yeah it's been it's more of a realistic environment really and that's what's been so valuable about the competition that we can come here and test it in a realistic environment I think it's practical so this…
